Members of Mysore Agenda Task Force (MATF), Mysore Grahaka Parishat (MGP) and prominent citizens had an interaction with Conservator of Forests Srikantaiah and Deputy Conservator of Forests Sreenivasulu today at Aranya Bhavan here.
They complained that the City Corporation and MUDA were indiscriminately felling trees for various reasons in different areas in city without obtaining permission from the Forest Department which was illegal as per Karnataka Tree Prevention Act. They urged the Forest officials to look into the matter immediately.
Sreenivasalu assured that he will verify the cases and take suitable action at the earliest.
MGP Convenor Dr. Bhami V. Shenoy, MATF members M. Laxmana, Dr. H.A.B. Parpia, Ravikumar, Star of Mysore Editor K.B. Ganapathy, journalist Rajashekhar Koti, Retd. DCF Sreenivas and others were present.
