Mangalore:Bantwal Ramanath Bhat has been promoted as the General Manager of Corporation Bank with effect from July 18.
According to a press release, Bhat joined the Bank in the year 1972 as clerk and later was promoted to the cadre of officer in 1977.
In his service of over 33 years, Bhat has worked in various capacities in different parts of the country including Dandeli, Dharwad, Belgaum, Greater Kailash-New Delhi, Panjim and Bandra branches before he was posted as Regional Head of Goa zone.
He later worked as Regional Head of Gujarat zone.
Bhat was the recipient of Chairman’s Club award for nine years, Super-Ordinate Goal Award for Seven years and had won Best Branch (Four years) and Regional Leadership Award (Two years) for the outstanding performance in various recognition schemes of the Bank.
In his new assignment, Bhat will handle Recovery Management, Credit Risk Management and Legal Services Divisions of the Bank. He is an old student of Shri Venkataramana Swamy School and College, Bantwal.
He is also chairman of the Public Relations Society of India, Mangalore-Manipal chapter.
