"For last 10 years, the Indian youth was attracted towards IT and BPO related careers due to influence by parents and peer pressures. Now, L and T is going to enter into district level educational institutes to attract young talents into manufacturing," L and T Chairman and Managing Director, Mr Anil M Naik said here on Tuesday.
Mr Naik, speaking on the sidelines of Bombay Management Association (BMA) award ceremony, said that the company would tie up with schools at each districts of the country. Earlier, Mr Naik was awarded 'management man of the year' award by BMA.
Mr Naik said that the company has already appointed 12 brand ambassadors, who would work with four to five leading institutes of the country aiming at attracting young professionals to manufacturing sector.
"L and T will go one step beyond the state-level institutions to the village level institutions. The young professionals, who are now over-exposed to IT, are really not willing but are pressurised to take up IT jobs," Mr Naik added.
