Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy, Gowda Saraswath Brahman Sabha, Mysore and Konkani Christian Association, Mysore together organised ‘Mahan Amnis Ek Mulaqath’ and Konkani Kavi Goshti programme at Govinda Rao memorial hall, Mysore on Sunday.
Akashvani retired director Jayashree G Shanbogue was the chief guest of the programme. “We must forget the differences in dialects and strengthen our love for our language. With love for our language we can forget the barriers of religion and mingle freely with the society,” she said.
Chief guest George V Pinto said Konkani literature has just started growing and the youth should come forward to contribute towards the government.
Dr K Ramesh Kamath and linguist Dr Roki Miranda were felicitated for their contribution towards the Konkani art and culture.
An interactive session with them was also held. Konkani Sahitya Academy president Eric Ozario presided over the programme. It was followed by Konkani Kavi Goshti.
