The Goa Saraswat Samaj will award scholarships and freeships to needy students of the Saraswat community for the year 2006-2007. Those desirous have been asked to submit their applications by July 15.
The forms are available at Maya Book Stores at Margao, Keni Brothers, Govinda building at Panaji, Burye at Mapusa, Dr Baban Kakodkar at Ponda, Mr Govind Kharangate, Bookland at Vasco, Mr Devidas Vaidya at Quepem, Mr Suryakant Desai at Bicholim and Mr Pralhad Pai, Mokhard at Canacona.
The Samaj will also felicitate meritorious students in Std X, XII, graduation and post-graduation examinations. The felicitation function will be held in August. Those desirous should submit their biodata, a photocopy of the marksheet and a photograph at Maya Book Stores, Margao, by July 20.
Students who have obtained 80 per cent and above marks in Std X and XII and first class at graduation/post-graduation examinations will only be considered for felicitation.
