Supreme Court’s Ruling Always the Last Word – Advocate M V Shankar Bhat

Mangalore, Nov 7: A seminar on ‘Judiciary vs Legislation and recent developments’ was organized by the Manavata Vedike here on Sunday November 6.

Speaking at the seminar, M V Shankar Bhat, senior advocate, said that there should be no conflict between the judiciary and the legislature. Neither of the two was inferior to the other in any way, and that each of them must work in harmony for better administration of the nation. The judiciary and the legislature are parent bodies, each having a significant role in the progress of the society.

He further said that it was the duty of the Supreme Court to make sure that the various organizations of administration work without breaking the barriers framed by the Constitution. The Supreme Court’s ruling would always be the bottomline for the nation, and no country can dictate terms to a democracy like ours, he added.

Also present at the seminar were K S Sharma, president, Mangalore Bar Association, Yashwanth Maroli, president, Manavatha Vedike and Yadav Shetty, secretary.
