Academy plans book on Konkani stalwarts

The Karnataka Konkani Sahitya Academy is planning to publish books on Konkani stalwarts of 20th century and Konkani culture as part of Suvarna Karnataka celebrations.
The first book will contain details about the Konkani speaking persons who have rendered exemplary service in the realm of Kannada and Konkani language, culture, freedom struggle and unification movement, politics, education, industry, banking, business, army and others. The second book will be a documentary of culture and customs of various Konkani sects.
The Academy has invited applications from persons interested in research work and videographers. Applicants should have working knowledge of Konkani language and relevant experience in the field.
Duration of the research work is 6 months and data collected will be examined by the experts and will be brought out in the form of book and VCDs. Research work will be funded by the Academy.
