BANGALORE: A giant tumour was successfully removed from an ailing heart of a 70-year-old patient after a successful operation at St Johns Hospital.
Kamalamma was admitted with sudden onset of breathlessness. Investigations showed a giant tumour covering the left chamber of her heart. The patient also suffered blockages in the blood vessels.
"Tumours in the heart are rare and if they are associated with other problems it's a surgical challenge," said Dr Satish Kini, who performed the operation.
