Konkani Bhasha Prachar Sabha, Kochi honoured K K Pai, chancellor of Manipal Academy of General Education and chairman of Dr TMA Pai Foundation with the "Konkani Pratibha" award during its golden jubilee ceremony held at Kochi in Kerala recently.
So also Purushottam Malya, honourary secretary of Konkani Bhasha Prachar Sabha was conferred with "Konkani Pitamaha" award.
Justice Narayana Kurup, former chief justice of Madras High Court who conferred awards on 2 distinguished personalities of Konkani community hailed the contribution of the Konkani speaking people to the field of education, medicine, literature, art and culture.
Speaking on the occasion K K Pai hailed the efforts taken by Konkani Bhasha Prachar Sabha in getting a sahitya academy for Konkani and enlisting Konkani in the 8 schedule of the Constitution.
MAT Pai, president, Konkani Bhasha Prachar Sabha welcomed the gathering while P Suresh Pai proposed the vote of thanks.
