Lokotsav 2006, a two-day festival of State level folk dance competition, organised by Shenoi Goenbab Seva Kendra Sanvordem Curchorem, was recently conducted at the Ravindra Bhavan in Curchorem. Sidhivinayak Kalasangh (Mardol-Ponda) bagged the first prize, while the second and third prizes were bagged by Ghaadvansh Lokmand (Keri-Sattari) and Mahila mandal (Avedem-Quepem). Six consolation prizes were awarded to Sateri Mahadev Kalamachi (Shigao-Collem), Omkar Mahila mandal (Sanvordem), Dayanand Kala Kendra (Curchorem), Sateri Saptrang (Sattari), Mahamaya Sanshtha (Collem), Sharda Mahila Mandal (Mirabag-Sanvordem). The contest was judged by Suhas Savordekar, Shivaji Vast and Shanu Dessai.
In all, 20 groups participated in the competititon.
