J-Lo to rock Mumbai during Kingfisher anniversary celebrations

Pop diva Jennfier Lopez will be performing for the very first time in India on May 22 at the MMRDA grounds in Mumbai, as part of the KingFisher airlines first anniversary celebrations.

The event hosted and sponsored by KingFisher airlines is part of Jennifer Lopez's current world tour, which she undertook after the release of her latest album 'Rebirth'. The album debuted at No 2 on the Billboard 200 spawning the hit 'Get Right' and has sold 40 lakh copies worldwide.

People travelling by the KingFisher Airlines can win tickets to the concert to see the diva perform live. Jennifer Lopez will be performing all the hot numbers from her latest album for the Indian audience.

Speaking to mediapersons, company Chairman Vijay Mallya said, "This event is a celebration of a fact that ever since the launch of the airline on May 9 last year, KingFisher airlines has raised the bar in service and product offering. It has occupied a prominent 8.7 per cent of the domestic airlines market and even reached the one millionth guest flying the airlines in just ten months."

Replying to a query on expansion and international flights, Mr Mallaya said, "We are planning to increase our current fleet fron 13 to 23 by the end of the year and as for international flights, the airbuses we have acquired will be put into service for direct flights to US by 2008."

KingFisher has recently introduced 'KingFisher First', a premium service featuring the plushest sleeperette seats in the Indian skies with a 48 inch adjustable headrest, extendable footrests and latest audio video on demand system, which would be available on the KingFisher First, Mr Mallya added.
