Manipal : Newspapers played a significant role in the society and in creating awareness, D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala, said today.
Speaking after inagurating the Manipal Media Network Limited's new Mangalore office of Udayavani Kannada daily, Heggade said newspapers were also playing a pivotal role in moulding peoples' opinion.
Even though several television channels had come in the country, newspapers had not lost their significance, he opined.
