Oklahoma Stars: Dr. Sujeet Shenoi

Dr. Sujeet Shenoi long believed that it was possible for computer technology students to combine academics, research, and service.

So he founded the unique Tulsa Undergraduate Research Challenge.

What distinguishes this nationally recognized program is its commitment beyond the classroom.

For example, Dr. Shenoi’s students have built computer networks for low-income schools and conducted tutoring programs for under-privileged children.

For his innovative leadership and foresight, the Carnegie Foundation in 1998 named Dr. Shenoi a U.S. Professor of the Year:

“I’ve been asked to move this program by many prestigious universities on both coasts. But why would I? I have exceptional students and the resources I need right here in Oklahoma!”
