KASARGOD: Cultural Affairs Minister M A Baby will lay the foundation stone of the Rs one crore Rashtrakavi Govinda Pai Memorial Mandir in Manjeswaram on March 23.
Karnataka former Minister Veerappa Moily will inaugurate the programmes in connection with the 125th birth anniversary of the poet Govinda Pai.
Kannada Development Authority chairman Dr Siddalingaiah will present the Govinda Pai Award to Kannada writer Dr N Basava Raju on the occasion.
I.M Vital Murthy, Cultural Affairs Secretary of the Karnataka Government will release a souvenir in connection with the event. P Karunakaran MP will be the chief guest on the occasion. Kannada writer Dr Chandrasekhara Kambar will inaugurate the literary conference in the afternoon. C K Chowta, PVK Panayal and Venkitaraja Puninchithaya will address the function.
