Dreams can be pathway to success, says Kamat

Noted environmentalist, Dr Nandkumar Kamat, said that children should always dream to achieve success in a field to acquire it in reality.

"Think deeply about your present activities and discover yourself and then success will surely be in your hands," he said.

Dr Nandkumar Kamat was speaking as chief guest at the prize distribution function for the winners of the cultural talent search competition organized by the Directorate of Art and Culture, at the Institute Menezes Braganza Hall, Panaji.

The function was presided over by Mr Shridhar Kamat Bambolkar, the vice chairman of Goa State Cultural Development Committee.

Speaking further he said that the parents and teachers should encourage and boost the inborn artistic qualities in their children.

Mr Bambolkar said that in future the government will make an effort to encourage drawing and other art fields also. He mentioned that the government has taken steps to award scholarships to the winners of the state level competition.

Mr Prasad Lolayekar, the director of Art and Culture, and Mr Ashok Parab, the assistant director were also present on the occasion.

Nearly 500 students had participated in this competition and 279 participants achieved success in the events of Indian classical, light music, western solo, harmonium, tabla, violin, guitar, keyboards, bharatnatyam, kathak and monologue at taluka and state level.

The programme was compered by Mr Pardip Naik, Mr Kirti Umarye welcomed the guest and the vote of thanks was proposed by Ms Vibha Dhume.
