Thomas Stiphens Konkani Kendra (TSKK) has demanded that the Government should withdraw grant of Rs 12 lakh sanctioned to Akhil Bhartiya Konkani Parisad (ABKP) on the grounds that ABKP is not a registered institute. While ABKP had asked for grant of Rs 20 lakh to
the Goa Government, they were sanctioned Rs 12 lakh for their three-day silver jubilee session, to be held in Goa from February 10.
Submitting their objection to the Department of Official Language, Executive Director of TSKK Dr Pratap Naik pointed out that ABKP is not a registered institute and hence is not entitled for any grants.
The TSKK is not happy that ABKP is propagating one language one script — fully backing Devnagari script.
