MANGALORE: The ad hoc committee of Vishwa Konkani Parishad has called upon all Konkanis to boycott the 25th Adhiveshan of All India Konkani Parishad and join the rally on Friday at the Azad Maidan, Panjim, at 4 pm.
Adhoc committee president Eric Ozario addressing a news conference opined that All India Konkani Parishad instead of uniting Konkanis had divided them on communal and regional lines.
“It has been trying to impose Devanagari lipi and has been attempting to suppress and destroy other scripts such as Kannada and Roman,” Ozario added.
He said the Parishad was not an authentic body as in spite of its existence for 66 years, it had not been registered and did not have a permanent address or an office or full time staff and did not even practise democratic norms while functioning.
