The newest version of an Ontario company's remote control software allows parents to secretly monitor their children's computer use.
A new version of I'm InTouch was released on Wednesday by 01 Communique, and it allows the program to be installed in "stealth mode."
The company, based in Mississauga, Ont., said a parent could log in from any computer on the internet and see what their children are doing online without letting them know.
The company's marketing manager, Minakshi Pai, said it typically sells the program to business clients to allow workers access to their work computers from home or on the road.
Pai said a company could use I'm InTouch's new feature to install the program on employees' computers and allow others to monitor their work without alerting them.
I'm InTouch 5.5 also allows people with hand-held computers running Windows Mobile to remotely control their desktop computer, said 01 Communique.
