Noted Konkani poet Prakash D Padgaonkar from Bardesh in Goa has bagged the prestigious Dr T M A Pai Konkani award for the year 2005.
Prakash Padgaonkar's collection of poems "Vhanvti Nhoim Kallaji" has won him this award. The book has been written in Devnagari script.
The award carries a purse of Rs 25,000 and a citation.
"Kanyadan", a Konkani work by Jyoti Kunkalkar of Machel, Goa has been chosen for the appreciation award. It is a collection of stories written in Devnagari script. The award involves a cash prize of Rs 5,000 and a citation.
