BELLARY: Surgeon Dr R Hari Narayana Shenoy died in Bangalore on Friday. He was 83. He served as Principal of Government Medical College Hubli (now KIMS), Bellary Medical College (now VIMS) and Bangalore Medical College.
Surgeon par excellence, he taught lakhs of students and performed more than 5 lakh surgeries. Even on the day of his death, he did a three and half hour surgery.
Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences teaching staff association condoled the death of Dr Shenoy. VIMS Director Dr. Khaja Nasuriddin, Dr G. Pompana Gouda, leading surgeon who too worked with Dr Shenoy in Hubli, Dr T. Narayana Rao, surgeon and Superintendent of VIMS, Dr Vidyadhar Kinhal and several others condoled his death.
