Mumbai: Renowned journalist and Prasar Bharti Chairman M V Kamath was today felicitated by Press Club, Mumbai, for his outstanding contribution to Indian journalism.
Speaking on the occasion, he urged journalists to take the profession as a ''challenging one'' and emphasised on objective reporting.
Mr Kamath, after staying in Mumbai for more than five decades, has decided to go to his native place Manipal, Karnataka, due to his illness. ''My heart and soul will remain in Mumbai though I have decided to go to Manipal as I am not keeping well these days.'' ''The scribes belong to the fourth estate and hence should understand the duty and responsibility of the profession without being influenced by sensationalism,'' Mr Kamath maintained.
